In the mood for whimsy? If you’re like me, you love an excuse to dress up in costume and mingle with like-minded people.  Thank goodness, then, for the New York Renaissance Faire! I had the opportunity to attend last weekend and couldn’t wait to share the details with you here.

This was my third year in a row to Tuxedo Park, NY for the festivities. It was full of performers like flame throwers, sword swallowers, dancers and magicians.

Shops abound where you could buy fun costume pieces like corsets and fancy hats.

A food court offered a variety of options from brisket to boar meat but of course some healthy options like watermelon slices, if you weren’t in the mood to partake in medieval cuisine.  There were games like archery and ax throwing and stands where you could get henna tattoos or a psychic reading.

They even have a joust with horses and knights!

I hope these photos inspire you to consider making the trip sometime.  This is their last weekend for the year, if you’re interested!
